The roomy wraparound front porch looks out over the fully fenced and cross-fenced property:

The rose arbor leads to the fenced and gated organically-shaped pool that has a shallow sunbathing ledge, two sitting ledges (perfect for sitting in shoulder-deep water and holding a wine glass), a diving rock, a slide, and a waterfall.
Wired for sound, the pool deck's speakers pair with your phone and blast your playlist as loud as you'd like. (There's nobody close enough to care or complain.) The wooden privacy fence and the screen of trees surrounding the pool give the space visual privacy as well. (Swim Nekky if you want.)
The large sunbathing ledge is a great place to stretch out in shallow water and stay cool while working on your tan.
The dogs like it, too. The Ledge is their favorite part of the pool. But Fred also likes the diving rock. His dives are phenomenal!
The pool is fully fenced with three access gates. In addition to the wooden privacy fence that extends along two sides of the pool, the landscaping around the pool creates a private, secluded feeling. Even though the pool is right beside the access gate, many people who visit aren't aware there is a pool until we tell them.
The jetted slide is all-but hidden behind a planter filled with cascading Bridal Wreath Spirea, Plumbago, Forsythia, and English Ivy. A waterfall fountain arches up from the planter to cascade over the slide's base, perfect for splashing through on the way down.

A diving rock is perfectly positioned for deep-diving (and the pool's deep end is 9-feet deep). A pipe next to the diving rock is plumbed for an additional waterfall, but we couldn't decide what kind we wanted, so that'll be a fun thing for the next family who lives here to decide.
The pool's cabana has plenty of room for a grill, table and chairs, and a hammock. It's wired for sound, with speakers and a sound system you can plug your phone into.
This is the pathway that leads from the front door then curves right toward the garage, with its attached two-bedroom guest house.
Straight ahead, mosaic paving stones lead to the chicken coops. The mosaic path then curves to the left around the house, leading to the downstairs master suite's private entrance and balcony.
After the path curves to the right, it continues straight to the three-bay garage and two-bedroom guest house.
Just past the garage, a four-enclosure aviary with a secure lockout hallway stands just dozen-or-so feet from the pool.
It seemed such a shame to tear down all the wild scuppernong vines when we were clearing the land for this place. So we chose one of the most vigorous vines and gave it something to climb on.
The vines produce scuppernong grapes every year, but we don't pick them. We leave that hard work for the squirrels who live in the trees around here.

A labyrinth is a walking meditation, and a metaphor for life's spiritual journey. In the labyrinth, as in life, there is only one way in, and one way out. As we walk the labyrinth, we take many twists and turns to reach the center--a metaphor for enlightenment.
The labyrinth's path can be confusing. It often doubles back on itself and turns in unexpected directions, making it seem that you are moving away from your goal. But unlike a maze, in a labyrinth there is no way to get lost.
There are places in the labyrinth where you can walk alongside another person, holding hands. Then the paths diverge and each person must walk alone.
In the fire pit in the center of the labyrinth, you can release what no longer serves your highest and best good. Or, you may choose to write your wishes and dreams on a smooth rock and leave it in the labyrinth as a prayer or a statement of your intentions.
Just outside the walkout basement, the greenhouse forms one side of a small courtyard-type area surrounded by flowerbeds and dominated by a huge magnolia tree. (IDK how tall it is exactly, but I'd guesstimate 75 - 100 feet tall.)
It's a fun place to putter and enjoy alone-time .

In the distance, a small treehouse for the kiddos is accessed by a footbridge over a mostly-dry runoff stream. The treehouse is within shouting distance of the house, and visible from some places, but the kids can still feel like they're alone in their own magical world.
The front gate opens automatically by remote controls (either inside the house or in your cars), or by a programmable keypad just outside the gate, or a push-button control located between the gate and the barn.

The aviary is situated between the garage and the pool. The entrance opens into a lockout hallway that accesses four separate walk-in enclosures. Each enclosure has two access doors, one for feeding and watering without entering the enclosure, and one for walking inside the enclosures. Just outside the aviary, a sink with running water and a hose connection makes watering and cleaning easy. Electrical outlets in the aviary give the opportunity to plug in fans or heaters as needed.
Four walk-in enclosures give your parrots or farm fowl a safe space to live, grown and raise their young. Walk-in enclosures give you the ability to interact with your birds, while giving them plenty of room to fly. Welded wire paired with an external layer of critter-proof screens keep predators away. This is the view from one of the two garage-facing enclosures.
Birds in the aviary can see everything going on around them, while still being safe from predators. This is the view from one of the two pool-facing enclosures.
